While in high school I would work occasionally with my older brother, who had his own roofing business. After graduating from South East Polk in 1985. I worked various construction jobs including roofing with my brother. In 1987 after getting married while working nights at Townsend Industries, needing extra money to support my family, I continued helping my brother on my off time as well as taking on small roofing jobs of my own. By 1993 I was getting enough consistent roofing work I was able to quit my job at Townsend Industries and launch my own business. In 2001 I incorporated.
My name is Jeff Robertson, Partner & Operations Manager at J. Bos. I grew up in Altoona and graduated from SE Polk. After HS I started working for Jeff Bos while home from college. Roofing became a passion of mine, so much so I started my own roofing company. Jeff Bos and I made a decision years ago to partner up again and I couldn’t be happier. I love my family and am so proud of our 3 kids. We are season ticket holders to Iowa Basketball. PS You won’t see me on your roof in late July, I will be riding Ragbrai.
My name is Ryan Mayo and I am the Outside Sales Representative for J. Bos Roofing Services. I was raised in Altoona, where I still currently reside. After graduating from Southeast Polk High School, I joined the Altoona Police Department. I retired from there 16 years later and began my current sales position. I have two fantastic boys! I coach football, baseball, and basketball. J. Bos allows me to continue my passion to help and problem solve for others. I dedicate myself to knowing the product, the application and seeing the job through to the end, and beyond.
My name is Joseph Taylor and I am the Job Site Supervisor at J. Bos Roofing. I am a man of faith, I grew up singing in many choirs & bands. I participated in many sports growing up in Colorado. During a 21 year career I officiated several sports working amateur, high school, college, and some professionally. I’m still very active and enjoy working out and training. I enjoy riding my bike on all the Des Moines bike trails and checking out the DSM live music scene. I love my family, and my job of 10 years with J Bos Roofing.
